Membership is a way to preserve Marine Corps traditions, serve fellow Marines and their families, mentor young people, and remain active in the Shoals community.
You do not need to complete an application before meeting us. Prospective members are welcome to contact the detachment and ask about attending a regular meeting first.
Membership paths
There Is a Place to Serve
Final eligibility is determined from the current national application, bylaws, and the documentation requested by the detachment.
Regular Membership
For eligible active-duty, reserve, retired, and honorably discharged Marines, as well as qualifying Navy FMF Sailors who have earned the appropriate FMF device or ribbon.
Associate Membership
For supporters who share Marine Corps values and want to serve the community but do not qualify for regular membership.
Dual Membership
For current League members seeking dual membership with Detachment 1477. The detachment will confirm the current requirements and process.

Complete the official form
Download the current national application. Regular applicants should follow the form’s instructions concerning proof of service.
Submit it through the detachment
A membership officer will explain dues, required documentation, and the approval process. Do not send a DD-214, Social Security number, or other sensitive records through the website contact form.
